Megan Wargula is a Georgia author who writes stories about friendship, first love, kindness, and the messy, magical years of growing up. She is the author of the Nice Girls series, a contemporary YA romance series that begins with Nice Girls Finish First, a nostalgic coming-of-age story set in the early 1990s.
Inspired in part by a very real teenage experience—including the time The Lemonheads' Evan Dando took Megan to her high school prom—the series blends first love, friendship, humor, music, and the complicated journey of figuring out who you are.Before Nice Girls, Megan wrote the Riley Carson middle-grade mystery series, featuring animal-loving kids and an animal-welfare twist.When she isn't writing, Megan can usually be found hiking with her husband, Michael, hanging out with their dogs, designing dog-lover gifts through Hound & Thistle, or co-hosting the Dog Nerd Show podcast.A lifelong believer in the Golden Rule, Megan writes the kinds of stories she loves to read: heartfelt, funny, nostalgic stories about people—and the animals—who make life worth living.
